Powys County Council
This particular tree was under taken for Powys county council. This Horse Chestnut located at the bottom of the ‘Warden’ in Presteigne was coming to a stage when it required some pruning techniques to be carried out.
Basically the species required crown cleaning through out and a 25-30% crown reduction. The reasons being it came of a mature age so it had produced some dead wood and other minimal defects. But primarily the tree was to be crown reduced. This particular species is quite prone to breakages as the limbs become very heavy and not extremely secure.
So it was decided to remove some weight from the canopy by form of a crown reduction.
As the tree was close to the high way and running through a public footpath the road was road signed to assure motorists that we were working close to the highway. The foot paths were closed off and warning signs were applied to the work site with security tape sealing the area off.
This job was carried out by our selves and which included two ground staff and one climber. The wood was left stacked on site for use of the public and the wood chip removed.
This is just one of the local authorities we contract to which we have done for some time. see council tree before during and after.

Roger and his crew carry’s out an extremely thorough and professional job coping from the smallest of pruning works to large sectional dismantles and canopy reductions”.
